Published works include three widely acclaimed volumes of diaries -- "A Walk-On Part", "A View from the Foothills" and "Decline & Fall". A fourth volume (2010-2022) will be published in April.
Author of four novels, including the classic political thriller, "A Very British Coup" , the television version of which won BAFTA and Emmy awards and was shown in more than 30 countries. A sequel, 'The Friends of Harry Perkins' was published in 2019.
Also, "Error of Judgement - the truth about the Birmingham Bombings" which led to the correction of one of the biggest miscarriages of justice in British legal history; made into a drama documentary by Granada Television in which Chris Mullin was played by John Hurt. An updated version will be published by Octopus in 2024 to mark the 50th anniversary of the bombings
